• Powerpill help.

    Hi all,
    I’m trying to use Powerpill.
I have installed it but am unsure how to configure it, I figure somethings missing as I get this error message when attempting to run it.

[[email protected] ~]$ sudo powerpill -Syyu
    [sudo] password for user:
    Traceback (most recent call last):
    File “/usr/bin/powerpill”, line 41, in <module>
    import pm2ml
    ImportError: No module named ‘pm2ml’

  • It needs pm2ml:

    sudo pacman -S pm2ml

    Cheers!

  • Hi there,
    Thanks for the response,
    I already have pm2ml installed.
I’ve read through the Arch wiki entry but am still none the wiser.

  • Hi,

Then it’s not installed correctly. This line clearly states that it can’t load the pm2ml module:

    ImportError: No module named ‘pm2ml’

  • Hi,
It seems my pm2ml install is borked.
python3-xcpf is a dependancy but the install fails with an unknown PGP signature error.
    Any help much appreciated.

    Hi there,
Ok so I’m still struggling with Powerpill, I have tried to resolve this myself but am having no luck. as far as I can tell everything is installed correctly. Heres the output from an install and attempted run of Powerpill…

On a side note and I apologise if I’m missing the obvious but how do I insert text as a code format.
    Thanks

  • @snaggle

On a side note and I apologise if I’m missing the obvious but how do I insert text as a code format.

You have to use three backticks , then your text, and then close it with three more backticks.

About your problem, it seems there’s an updated version of pm2ml. As Cnchi does not use it anymore I didn’t remember to update it in our repo. I’ll do it asap. Maybe it helps you, maybe not.

  • Ok thanks, I’ll try my luck with Powerpill again soon.
As you can see I have almost got the code format right , Have I got the end backticks in the wrong place ?

  • Have I got the end backticks in the wrong place ?

Yes, you have to put them on a new line (I’ve done it for you).

    Cheers!

EDIT: New pm2ml is now in our repository. Simply issue a pacman -Syu

  • @karasu

    Hey thanks
Ok have updated pm2ml, a definate difference although now when I try and run powerpill this happens…

        sys.exit(run_main())

    [[email protected] ~]$

    Any help much appreiciated.

  • Wow… I’m afraid this means powerpill also needs an update.

You can use the AUR version meanwhile. Just use yaourt this way:
    yaourt -S aur/powerpill

    Cheers!

  • Hi,

Ok so now I’m getting a PGP error!!
