• Install under Hyper-V

    Hi - I am trying to install in a Windows8 Hyper-V VM …
It seems to install ok, but once it gets to boot from hard disk, I get:

    “tsc: Fast TSC calibration failed”
    “ROOT_ANTERGOS: recovering journal”
    “ROOT_ANTERGOS: clean, 133846/3826368 files, 1033863/15304704 blocks”
“piix4_smbus SMBus base address uninitialized - upgrade BIOS or use force_addr=0xaddr”

How can I get around this ?

  • This is probably because the installer checks what graphic driver do you need and it’s not ready to work with Hyper-V as it returns something like “Microsoft VGA compatible controller” and your installation end up without any graphic driver installed.

If you could help me figure it out which driver should I set to be installed when running on hyper-v I could implement this for next release

  • I’m a newbie here (and a “NIX novice”), but I have previously managed to install other 'NIX OS’s (Susie & Fedora), in a Win8 Hyper-V VM.

Can you tell me how/where to find the info you need ?

    -Tom
