• MSI PE60 UEFI/Legacy USB Boot Problems

I recently outfitted my new MSI laptop with an SSD, and decided to install this distro. I have the option of UEFI boot mode, Legacy boot mode, and UEFI CSM bot load. When I boot from the USB using UEFI, I get a blue window saying "
    FAILED TO START LOADER

IT SHOULD BE CALLED LOADER.EFI (IN THE CURRENT DIRECTORY)
PLEASE ENROL HASH AND TRY AGAIN
I WILL NOW EXECUTE HASHTOOL FOR YOU TO DO THIS"
It gives me an OK button but I don’t know where to go from there.

When I try to boot from Legacy, it gives me the option screen, but then gives me a list of nouveau errors and says to reboot (when i do it gives the same errors)

    Any help? Thanks.

  • Some UEFI computers have also Secure Boot option in their BIOS Setup Utility. Usually, when the computer is booted in Legacy BIOS mode, the Secure Boot must be switched OFF:

    1. BIOS mode = Legacy
    2. Secure Boot = OFF

Just a shot in a dark.
