• \[SOLVED\] Netflix - a nudge if you please?

I’ve had a look over at the Arch forums, but not really sure how to proceed.

I’d previously been using the netflix-desktop package under Ubuntu. Wine/Firefox as I think everyone knows by now. Worked great, and I’m happy to do the same again.

But I know there is also the pipelight netflix approach, where you change the user agent in your browser after installing pipelight. I have not yet tried this under any distro.

What is the path of least resistance under Antergos?

  • Hi!

I would use pipelight because it gets the job done without having to install the windows version of firefox. The install instructions are pretty straight forward here: [https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pipelight][0]">[https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pipelight][1] Use yaourt to install from command line. (pacmanXG can be used from GUI if you prefer). Have fun!

  • Thanks lots.0.logs.

Definitely a case of, “Wow, it was really that easy?”

Even the user agent switching isn’t really a problem - normally I’m a FF user, so I’ve just dedicated Chromium to netflix, and will leave the user agent set as needed…

    Appreciate the pointer!

  • No problem at all. Sometimes we make things seem more difficult in our heads. I do that all the time haha.
