• CUDA-5.0 installation

    Hello everyone,

I need to install CUDA-5.0 for a simulation package I use (which does not support 5.5 as of yet) and need help finding the files to do so. Checking pacman only shows 5.5, additionally the nivida site does not list an installer for arch builds ([https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-toolkit-50-archive][0]">[https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-toolkit-50-archive][1])

If anyone could recommend or help guide me through installing the 5.0 toolkit I would be extremely grateful.

    Cheers

  • Hi,

I’m no expert in Arch but I will try to help.

Looking through Arch’s wiki, we can find this page about downgrading packages and where to find an old package: [Downgrading Packages[/url:1rwmlf6n]

So, you have three options: Look in an out of sync mirror, but as it has been so time from the update to cuda 5.5 this won’t do. Use the ARM ([Arch Rollback Machine[/url:1rwmlf6n]) Sadly, the old one was closed on 2013-08-18, and the news one have no packages prior to 2013-08-31, and cuda was updated to version 5.5 on 2013-08-04, so the 5.0 version isn’t here either (I have checked myself).

So, the only way to get Cuda 5.0 seems to be recompiling it…]1]0

  • Ok… I hope you need x64

I built CUDA for you, and placed it on the donkey (amule) network under the name of: cuda-5.0.35-6-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz

Simply install amule or emule/wine and search for cuda, and you should be able to download it. (446.5Mb)

Here is the donkey link in case you need it: ed2k://|file|cuda-5.0.35-6-x86_64.pkg.t … 52FGD65H|/

Hope this works for you and your needs.
