• Chromium can't exit full screen

    Hi all!!

I’m having one annoying problem. It’s just what the title says: when I go into full screen in some webs with chromium, like Youtube for example, I can’t exit full screen anymore, when I try the browser apper like this:

I guess is something about the chromium-pepper-flash plugin. It doesn’t work neither the normal or the stable version in AUR.

    Any clues??

  • Nop, F11 doesn’t work…

I’ve tried disabling everything: plugins and extensions, but it still doesn’t work. In fact I only have four plugins: icedtea, Chromoting Viewer, Native client and Flash, which is 11.9 r900 version. I don’t have 11.2 version.

Yesterday I joined the html5 trial of youtube, but there is a lot of videos in flash still.

  • Perhaps try enabling “Override software rendering list” in chrome://flags

  • I’ve already have that enabled…

What about the graphic drivers?? Could be responsible?

  • Only way to find out: Try both

I actually suffer the same problem IF i have the video focused! What I mean by this is: Open a video -> F11 goes to fullscreen -> click youtube video -> F11 doesn’t work anymore -> click anywhere on the page to focus browser again -> F11 works again -> clicking on the video will disable F11 again.

  • I’m not sure if it’s the same bug, but my Chromium even after doing that will still have this problem. Pressing F11 once will un-fullscreen the window and instantly fullscreen it again. I’ve found a workaround, albeit annoying, where I alt-tab to another window, unmaximise and maximise the window using the menu bar and then I get control again. Weird.

  • I have actually been having this issue for a week or maybe two, im not sure. I have been so busy that I have not had time to look into it at all. My assumption is that its a bug with chromium regardless of flash b/c it does it on H.264 videos as well. If I have time later I will see what I can dig up

  • I also had this problem. Several times in fact. Came across a solution where you close Chrome with Alt F4. This method basically allows you to restart Chrome.

From this point, you can restart Chrome and it will go back to normal.
