• Sudo lecture warning not going away


    Hey guys, I am trying to disable the sudo warning but without success
    On the arch wiki they say you need to set
    "Defaults lecture=once"

    So I did that with the "EDITOR=nano visudo"
    The lecture value was not there but I created it at the end of the file

    But I still get the lecture warning
    XFCE

  • Does your Sudoers file have the message:-

    We trust you have received the usual lecture from the local System
    Administrator. It usually boils down to these three things:

    #1) Respect the privacy of others.
    #2) Think before you type.
    #3) With great power comes great responsibility.

    Mine doesn’t so it must be in a different file. You cant change a command for something that isn’t there.

    Have you tried in ‘sudoers.d’?

  • On arch website they say if its not present just add it to the /etc/sudoers file but that don’t work

  • After reading more online
    The solution was to reinstall sudo and add “Defaults:al !lecture” to the sudo file with the “EDITOR=nano visudo” command
