• Help me please

Hi im new to antergos and arch linux i came from linux mint and still learning this new OS

I am using winff to convert my screencasts that i make, but only problem is it gives me an error and says libvo_aacenc unknown codec,i have googled and tried to install it from tarball from the AUR website and can’t seem to get it installed

Any ideas on how to install this codec?
    Thank you all in advance

  • do you have yaourt support enabled? in that case you can download it with the software program.
else follow the instructions of pacman on the arch wiki

  • @Donald-Smouse Which format are you converting from/to? Miro Video Converter is the tool I use, perhaps it will work for your needs. You can install it using the GUI package manager front-end (Pamac) or from the command line with yaourt like this:

    yaourt -S miro-video-converter

  • what application are you using to do the recording the screencasts?

If you are not using Simple Screen Recorder then you totally should be because SSR supports MKV and MP4 out of the box without need for conversion so you can bypass any conversion needs just by using SSR.
