• Error installing antergos-minimal-2015.06.03-i686 on VMware Player

I’m looking at replacing Windows XP with a Linux distro on an older laptop (~2009). I’ve decided to check out Artergos in VMware player (7.1.2 build-2780323) on my main PC, but i’ve run into an issue. After choosing “Start Antergos Live” at boot menu, i’m then greeted by the “Welcome to Antergos, to begin install go Reboot->Start Antergos Live, if you still see this msg something’s wrong, lf assistance on forums”. So here i am :P.

VMware machine is set to 2 CPU cores, 2GB RAM and OS is “Other Linux 3.x kernel”, since neither Antergos or Arch is on the specific OS list.

    Here’s a screenshot as well:antergos_error.jpg

  • OK I now tried the full setup image, and I now get “Oh no, something has gone wrong” msg in a graphic window.

  • Hi,

I’m afraid our Installation images do not support VMWare. Sorry! Virtualbox is supported though.

    Cheers!
