• How can I set up monitors that weren't detected?

    I have 4 monitors connected to 2 NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 cards.

    When I start the Antergos Live DVD, it automatically detects 2 of them.

    I’m interested in switching from Windows 7 to Antergos, but don’t want to go ahead with the install unless I can get all 4 monitors working.

    Any ideas?

  • @marclar ive never setup multiple monitors but ive heard people on linux have setups like this. after install you install maybe try installing the nvidia drivers. should have more options then.

  • Hi,

    You shouldnt have any problems with that card. It’s well supported by both drivers. I’ve found the proprietary Nvidia driver to be more stable though that doesn’t mean your experience would be the same. I recommend trying the open source drivers (installed by default) first and if you have any issues you can easily swap to the nvidia driver.

  • You need to install proper nvidia drivers for your cards, then;

    • Open the Nvidia X Server Settings
    • Do your settings based on your monitors placements under X Server Display Configuration.
    • Open a terminal and run ‘sudo nvidia-xconfig’
