• Help Needed: Problem during Installation

    Hello All,

I’m a new Antergos user. i’ve used Archlinux before, so i thought about giving an Arch fork a try, So i choose Antergos as i always like Gnome-shell. But i’m facing problem during installation from Live CD. i’m using version 2013.8.20.

** When i try to install from GUI installer, it stuck at one stage, i don’t have internet access in my PC, so it’s saying that ‘No internet Access’ in the page where it asks to install third party softwares and ‘Forward’ button is disabled in this stage. I can’t go forward with installation process. isn’t it possible to install Antergos without internet connection?
** another problem is- i use internet through a USB 3G modem which is plug-n-play. i just need to connect with it through ‘Mobile Broadband’ option in Gnome network manager. but i found this ‘Mobile Broadband’ option is missing in Antergos gnome network manager (there’s only option for Wi-Fi, Wired, VPN, VLAN etc.) , so i can’t connect my USB modem. and without internet connection i can’t use this OS. Where is that ‘Mobile Broadband’ option of network manager? plz inform me how to connect a USB modem in Antergos. lsusb command detects my modem nicely and it’s in modem-mode. I just need ‘Mobile Broadband’ option to setup my internet connection.

Hope you guys will help me. I’ll be grateful. Thanks in advance.

  • Hi there! I’m sorry that your installation isn’t going smoothly, but I’m happy to provide assistance
    systemctl enable ModemManager
    systemctl start ModemManager
    systemctl restart NetworkManager[/code:3i8f970a]
If everything behaves properly, you should now see your usb modem in the connection menu! Please let me know if it is successful. If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to ask. Oh I almost forgot, Welcome to the Antergos Community!
