• TESTERS NEEDED - New ISO Images Available On The Build Server

There are new ISO Images available on the build server. They worked fine in our testing but we would like to get a few more real-world tests to confirm that the images are good. If all goes well, these images will replace the images currently available on the main download page. If you have the time, please test them and let us know how it goes. Thanks!

  • @Wyn Thank you . With your post I can make the download . I don’t know why I can’t make download from the build server .I believe that’s because I’m using Firefox - it’s not possible make login or register , here I’m using Google+ .

  • @Rodrigo-Virmond

If you right click one and select open in new tab or copy link location it works fine :+1: .

But @lots-0-logs wanna look into it? I know you love the firefox issues :P

  • I will be testing the x86-64 1.5 gb installing a bare installation.
Checking the root permissions for .config, cnchi, etc…
Next thing tomorrow and report back.

  • I tried three time to make an workable usb - three different ways
starting from 05.20 full version i get a white screen " oops something went wrong"
then this screen is gone and cnchi 0.8.137 popsup but system is shut down…
    no testing for tomorrow… :(

  • Hi,
I could not get the ‘stable’ release to work, cnchi just would not run.
I d/l the testing isos for 64-bit, both full and minimal, and they both work fine on a Toshiba Satellite laptop.
    Many thanks !!!
    Installation went fine.
    Software installs work OK.
One problem I had, which I have had before with 64-bit distros, was that sound did not work.
Editing the etc/default/grub file solved the problem.

    Regards,
    Phil

What are you using to make the usbs? I got lazy and just used the image writer in mint 17.1 to do it and it works fine for me.

  • writing one time more on new usb with imagewriter
we will know in a few minutes

    What did you change?

  • 1,6 b did not work for the 4th time
    screen
Oh no something has gone wrong

Ah problem has occurred and the system can’t recover. all extensions have been disabled as a precaution
    cnchi 0,8,137 pops up later

downloaded now the minimal and everything installed fine
.config folder is now users not root - see ticket
Installing now I3 as on my website on github

Up to you to see what is the difference - Full does not work - Minimal works.?

re-edit : minimal installation successfully completed

  • @erikdubois

Full uses Gnome3 whereas minimal uses Openbox.

Gnome3 needs acceleration. There’s some problem with the graphic driver (I guess). Which graphics card do you have?

    I’m glad minimal worked, though.

    Cheers!

  • 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation G94 [GeForce 9600 GT] (rev a1)

former edition worked just fine … something has changed.

  • @erikdubois The new images are the first images to use the 4.0 kernel. There must be a regression in the kernel somewhere.

  • Still got white screen in VirtualBox after installation :-(
I tried the minimal ISO in 32 bit. I wanted to try out Openbox.
