• USB Mouse/keyboard not hotpluggable

If I plug in any USB input device (keyboard, keyboard, tablet), nothing happens. The mouse (or any other input device) doesn’t get detected — the offending devices won’t even appear in lsusb output. The devices will only work if they’re plugged in an USB port before I boot or wake the laptop from sleep. Putting laptop to sleep just to get mouse/keyboard/etc. working is mildly annoying, so — does anyone know how to fix that?

Note - USB flash drives and hard drives do get detected and appear just fine.

  • Hi,

What’s the output of dmesg after plugging in the devices?

  • There’s nothing relevant logged under dmesg when that happens.
