• [SOLVED] How to install Sun Java..?

Someone can tell me how to install Sun Java … I need to run some .jar

  • You have a few options. For running standard .jar files, you can install the OpenJRE

    sudo pacman -S jre8-openjdk

If you need the proprietary version of Java (which is required for some new features, like the JavaFX GUI framework), you can install the proprietary Oracle Java 8 runtime from the AUR.

    yaourt -S jre

If you are doing any development, you will need the Java Development kit. OpenJDK 8 can be installed with

    sudo pacman -S jdk8-openjdk

For the development version of the proprietary Java 8 development kit, also from the AUR

    yaourt -S jdk
  • @pid1 thanks for your help again, I did not remember that installs with yaourt… I am clumsy today
