• Is it possible to add Antergos repo to Arch?

    Hi everyone, I had a very pleasant time with antergos but unfortunately my system collapsed, had to reinstall and my MacBook is a little sunova… and all I get is errors when trying to reinstall Antergos. There are some packages I want to install from the Antergos repo, specially the LightDM theme, but I don’t know if it is allowed to add the Antergos repo in Arch, and how to do it.

    I really appreciate any help! :smile:

  • Sure you can. Here’s how to do it:

    1. Download our keyring: http://mirrors.antergos.com/antergos/x86_64/antergos-keyring-20140915-1-any.pkg.tar.xz
    2. Install it: sudo pacman -U the/path/to/antergos-keyring-20140915-1-any.pkg.tar.xz
    3. Initialize & populate the keyring:
      sudo pacman-key --init archlinux antergos && sudo pacman-key --populate archlinux antergos
    4. Add the following to /etc/pacman.conf:
    [antergos]
    SigLevel = PackageRequired
    Usage = All
    Server = http://mirrors.antergos.com/$repo/$arch

    1. Finally, refresh your databases: sudo pacman -Syy

    If you have any trouble with connections through our geo mirror server you can install the antergos-mirrorlist package which will add some backup servers to your list. Let me know if you have any questions.

  • Thank you so much!! It’s working perfectly, the only thing I had to do was add a – to the populate option, like this:

    sudo pacman-key --populate archlinux antergos

    everything else was perfect, thank you so much for your help!!

  • The thing which i need :) i am very glad that.

    Anybody knows , how can i do same thing for manjaro ?

    Exactly the same way as already explained by @lots-0-logs in this thread, just 4 posts above this one.

    Edit

    If you do it, be ready to deal with conflicting packages, coming from both Manjaro and Antergos repos.

  • today i get a error when i try to update my system it seems to depent with keyrign. What should i do ?

  • @mozhan The issue with [antergos] repo signatures is solved.

    Try to run a simple upgrade

    sudo pacman -Syyu

    If it still returns some error, clean all packages from pacman’s cache first

    sudo pacman -Scc
    sudo pacman -Syyu

    Two last commands worked perfectly here. There are no problems with package signatures anymore. Thanks to Antergos team.

  • yeah after updating system the problem was solved

  • Hello peeps, I just found antergos. I’ve been on Arch for a while now. What does adding the Antergos repo to my Arch add?

    This :smile: .

  • @just

    And to check the sources thats here: https://github.com/Antergos/antergos-packages

    I7 [email protected]/32GB Ram/3440 x 1440 + 1440p/EVGA 1080 FTW/512GB SSD/2TB HD/Antergos Base w/ Plasma

  • @just @Wyn Cool. Are there any package groups, something like antergos-gnome?

  • @trusktr

    For the same look?

    The theme is Numix frost, the pkgbuild is here: https://github.com/Antergos/antergos-packages/tree/master/numix-frost-themes

    You can see what default settings are set here: https://github.com/Antergos/Cnchi/blob/master/scripts/set-settings

    I7 [email protected]/32GB Ram/3440 x 1440 + 1440p/EVGA 1080 FTW/512GB SSD/2TB HD/Antergos Base w/ Plasma

  • @Wyn Cool. Being able to add the repo, then just pacman -S antergos-gnome to install all the antergos gnome stuff would be cool. :smile:

  • @trusktr That is already in our plans and should be possible soon :smile:
