• Boosting sound in xfce

Hey all, I’m still a noob to arch in general and antergos specifically so I apologize in advance if this is a silly question. I originally tried antergos gnome edition and while I liked it I wanted to try xfce too before deciding which to settle on. Anyhoo, in xfce there doesn’t seem to be a way to set the sound level higher than 100%. In the gnome version I was able to do this. It’s very handy for me as I have crappy desktop speakers and a low end sound card to boot so having it set for a little over 100% makes watching movies online a better experience.

Hoping there’s a quick and easy way to do this. Btw, I have really enjoyed both the gnome and xfce versions of antergos. Very well done indeed.

I can’t help you with this, as I don’t use XFCE, but I recall that the VLC player has this function 😁

  • Install pavucontrol. I moved mine to 150% so I think it will work for you.
