• HFS+ Volume unable to mount

    Hey there,

I want to mount a external HDD from my Mac with HFS+ FS. It has 4 partitions from sdd1-4. lsblk and fdisk just recognize sdd (without a number) and gparted “sees” the number, but can’t mount them from there (grayed out). I have no Mac anymore and need some of those files.
When I mount sdd (which is the only in /dev/) I just have access to sdd1.

Anyone can help me to get files from sdd4?

  • Noone any idea? :(

  • First install hfsprogs

    sudo pacman -S hfsprogs

Then you may able to mount the HDD with

    sudo mount -t hfsplus -o force,rw /dev/sdx\# /mountpoint

Generally you’ll need to turn of journaling in MacOSX on your HFS Drive before mounting read/write in Linux.
