• Home in different partition/volume

Knowing that cnchi gives us an option to set home as a different partition.

I waana know how much is this beneficial?

If I decide to format my system again in future, will I have an option to just reset the non-home partitions?

  • Of course! The idea is that you keep your personal files in /home, and if you want to reinstall in the future you can do it without touching your home partition (You HAVE to use the “advanced” install option though, because the automatic one wipes your hard disk).

In advanced, just tell cnchi to mount /home in your home partition and do NOT select Format this partition.

    Cheers!

  • Aha! Awesome! Just what I wanted!

    one more question,

Can I switch between “log in automatically” and “Require password to login” after Antergos is installed?

  • Yes, you can! Though it’s not straighforward, it’s not difficult either.
