  • Still can’t boot, after it says systemd 217, I see a line of pixels and the PC or graphics cards hibernate, because the monitors turn off but I still have to hold the PC power button to turn off. I have an nVidia card gt630, trying to boot with Uefi, which works with the August ISO.

    Enjoy!

I’m using DriveDroid, works with everything else I have used, including previous version of Antergos

  • Hi,

Try disabling Secure Boot in your UEFI firmware settings. If that doesnt help, check for any available settings in the UEFI loader that are graphics related and try to make adjustments. Let me know the result.

    Best Regards,

  • Installation successful using the 11-26 iso, 64bit. I never could get the cnchi-dev (update method) to work using the August iso.

  • Installation went fine with the 11-26 x86_64 iso as well. Quick question, is anyone able to update their system after performing that install? I tried updating a few hours after the install, and am having issues with the pacman keyring not being initialized. Works fine after doing a pacman-key --init and pacman-key --populate archlinux. Full output:

  • hi all,

i’m a new forum’s member and a new antergos’ user (sorry for missed self-into), so probably the strange thing i encounter with the installer has been reported earlier. though searching the forum for it returns nothing.

for some reason the installer, generating fstab, doesn’t include the entries for swap partitions in it. the computer has two separate internal physical hard disks. each disk has one swap partition on it, for a total of two. during installation, both disks and both swaps are detected by the installer and are present in the list of partitions. nevertheless, neither of them is included in the final fstab.

it was happened with [antergos-2014.08.07-x86_64.iso[/url:1xacpkle] release earlier, it happens with [antergos-2014.11.28-x86_64.iso[/url:1xacpkle] (testing) now. not including swaps in fstab looks a bit strange for me, that’s why i’m writing this. am i missing something?

this is the example of fstab, generated today by the [antergos-2014.11.28-x86_64.iso[/url:1xacpkle], and edited by hand later. the initial part, completely commented out, was generated by the installer. the final, working part was added by hand. it includes the entries for /dev/sda3 and /dev/sdb3, which are both swap partitions.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had fixed it in my prior post by running the following commands and then updating again:

    > pacman-key --init
    > pacman-key --populate archlinux

I will try again with the latest testing ISO to see if I encounter any issue, however Cnchi seems to not be able to load in the latest dev ISO (I tried antergos-2014.11.28-2-x86_64.iso).

I suppose we will get a new test spin soon with something for this?

  • Hi Vinadoros,

There was a bug introduced in Cnchi about the features screen. Hopefully it has already been fixed. If you run cnchi-dev in the same iso it should work. (remember to run both pacman-key commands first).

Tell us if it works for you or not, please.

    Thanks.

  • Hello!

Is orca also included in the live environment of these testing isos?
I want to give them a try.

    thanks.

  • We recommend using whichever image is the latest when you sort them by date :-)

  • Orca should be available in those testing iso’s. Nevertheless, I haven’t tested it.

  • Yea, the live environment now has orca and espeak!

I installed the system (the gnome version) and found out that it didn’t install orca for me :(
I tried to do it manually but it is not working, I’m not sure what is going on cause I have no speech.

Okay, trying the newest one from that image now

  • Finishing the installation of ISO 2014.12.03-x86_64 the installation was a success.
But the pt_BR translation file is not updated, I had to manually update.

  • Hi guys

I got a sighted help and installed Orca on my installed Antergos system, everything is running smooth. The installation went great too.

Can you please add an option (like a tickbox in an installer) for installing orca and espeak, so We could have speech after installation as well?

    Cheers

  • I thought I left some comments about the installer but they do not seem to show up. Perhaps I didn’t post my final thread after a Preview. Anyway here is what I did and found:

    I started with kde with all options selected. It looks great but freezes at times. Libreoffice was not installed. Lightdm also freezes for close to a minute before I could login;

I tried Gnome to see if the same issues existed. Libreoffice was not installed, again. Lightdm also freezes for close to a minute before being able to login. Gnome does look great and does not freeze once logged in.

Next up was Cinnamon. This time I chose to login automatically. The Desktop was fast and responsive with decent looking fonts. Libreoffice was not installed so I tried again with Libreoffice not selected during installation. The installation went much faster. Font rendering looked good. All I had to do was install Libreoffice. It is important for US users to select Libreoffice-Still as there is no language pack for the US. Also, Writer is not installed. I don’t understand why that is not included in the base as it is with other distros and Windows.

A few comments on font rendering. It is greatly improved but still not quite right on some websites. Configuring and installing MS fonts from the AUR Repository corrects the issue. I chose Verdana and everything looks quite nice. It is important not to install Infinality packages. It made everything distorted, something I had to undo to get things working correctly.

The Installer itself is easy to use and should encourage anyone to try an Arch based system!
