• Upgrading Pacman Mirror List

While upgrading pacman mirrorlist, I got this warning messege:

    (3/4) meningkatkan pacman-mirrorlist [\#\#\#\#\#\#\#\#\#\#\#\#\#\#\#\#\#\#\#\#\#\#] 100%
    peringatan:/etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist dipasang sebagai /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist.pacnew

So, is there any significant issue that will arise from this upgrade. Or where I can learn more about this mirrorlist upgrade?

  • A new mirrorlist has been created and saved to /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist.pacnew, no issue at all
You can always generate a new one (e.g. for your location) with [Pacman Mirrorlist Generator[/url:2jb0wikk] or do it yourself:

    cd /etc/pacman.d
    su -
    \#\# backup current mirrorlist
    mv mirrorlist mirrorlist.backup
\#\# generate new one with 6 entries sorted by speed
    rankmirrors -n 6 mirrorlist.pacnew \> mirrorlist
    exit
    \#\# refresh package-list
    sudo pacman -Sy

  • Thanks,

I did move the mirrorlist.pacnew into mirrorlist – but then it said - some of - my local file were newer then the repo, so I generated a new one like you said. It worked nicely :).
