• Live CD video out of range even at 640x480

I’m trying to install Antergos on a SuperMicro 1U previously running CentOS. 2x2 Opteron 240, 4GB memory, onboard Mach64GM (Rage XL).

No matter what I choose for the video option, even 640x480 or text only, it boots and my monitor displays “out of range”. I know the GPU is capable of at least 800x600 at 16bpp or 1024x768 at lower colors. The first boot screen (GRUB?) displays well in 800x600 16 bit or higher, 60Hz. Then it boots with a stdout showing me everything up until starting graphics, and it goes out of range.

I’ve tried to manually add [email protected] to the options line, but no joy. Any ideas?
