• USB Pendrive very slow speed

Hello. Can I make something to speed up the transfer speed for my Kingston SE9 pendrive? The original Fat 32 formatting was not modified.

    Thanks

  • Your USB device is a hardware. You can’t change it’s copy-paste speed.
However, you can try formatting it in ext4 file system. Ext4’s transfer rate is slightly faster than fat32 and NTFS but its only supported by Linux systems. So, I’d recommend you formatting it in NTFS as it’s supported by both Windows and linux and is slightly faster than FAT32.

You can take a look at the comparision table in here[/url:1unbdq3k].

    Archlinux x64

    AMD A4-3305M Processor
    6GB RAM
    1GB+512MB Hybrid AMD GPU

  • Thanks. I thought that some system configuration could be modified for this purpose. I`ve read in some forum, about sync and no-sync, like mountig options…

  • What DE do you use? Have you tried to copy a file via a terminal command? What’s your recent transfer speed?
