• Mouse cursor flickering

    Hi guys.
I’m not sure it’s the right section to write in.

The issue is this one: it often happens that mouse cursor starts suddenly extremely lagging, even if the CPU consumption is not that high. It flickers, sometimes stuck in a screen position, keeping there for a while, and moving jerky.

I need some help, even only for some logs to look at.
Looking forward for an help here.

    Greetings.

  • Still waiting for any suggestion or test request.

  • Hi,

Your problem is really broad and difficult to diagnose (at least for me).

    Have you tried another browser?

Have you experienced this with other resource intensive apps? (like games, for instance).

How much RAM do you have? Install inxi and post here the result of running it, please.

    Cheers!

  • I am new to Arch and I have to admit that I am more experienced with Ubuntu.
Take a look at this workaround…

    I’ve 16GB of RAM.
    This is [i:33zgv44i]inxi[/i:33zgv44i]'s output:

    \# inxi
    > CPU~Quad core Intel Core i7-4770 (-HT-MCP-) speed/max~2688/3900 MHz Kernel~3.17.1-1-ARCH x86\_64 Up~1:41 Mem~1016.7/15750.1MB HDD~414.0GB(32.0% used) Procs~178 Client~Shell inxi~2.2.15

It randomly happens. Even if massive and heavy apps or resources are running (eg, compiling a whole Android ROM), it doesn’t mean it always happens.
