• Install other file manager

    Hi,

I don’t really like Thunar. Is it possible to install a file manager like Nemo in antergos?

What do I have to keep in mind while replace Thunar?

  • Yes, in fact I used nemo with openbox some time ago.

    Install nemo :

    sudo pacman -S nemo

One way would be to uninstall thunar and then install nemo. Are you using XFCE? If you uninstall thunar, some XFCE functions won’t work.

But you can have both installed, too. You have to not run xfdesktop and make nemo take care of your desktop.

Post here if you have any problems.

    Cheers!

I do. Which functions won’t work?

  • Nemo can be used without issue in Xfce, but you should still keep Thunar installed. I prefer not to allow Nemo to manage my desktop. You can configure it by editing the exec command in /usr/share/applications/nemo.desktop by adding “–no-desktop” to the end of it

    Cheers!
