• TP-Link TL-WN8200ND doesn't connect to any wifi

    Hi,

I have a [TP-Link TL-WN8200ND[/url:33g22sab] with a RTL8192CU chipset. When i plug it, it detects my wifi but it doesn’t connect. I know that is working with the RTL8192CU module; so i was checking and reading in other forums, i found one that recommended to use the [8192CU[/url:33g22sab] driver that are in the AUR repositories. So i’ve made it, first putting the RTL8192CU module in the modprobe blacklist and after compiling and installing, the same problem appears. With the little difference that the led in the device is flashing now when before with the other driver not.

    I need your help.
    Sorry for my english.

    Thanks.]1]0

  • First, you can install wicd and try connecting with it.(An alternative to gnome’s default NetworkManager)
If your wifi isn’t password protected, you can use wifi-radar too, it’s another GUI app but only for conneting with wifi.

Treminalwise, You can check the link status of your wifi

    iwconfig wlp6s0

    then you can try

    dhcpcd wlp6s0

    or you can use

    iwconfig wlp6s0 essid "your\_essid"

*Your ESSID is your wifi name(write in between " " if there are spaces in name)

or if your wifi is password protected

    iwconfig wlp6s0 essid "your\_essid" key your\_key

  • I was trying with Wicd but is not working. I’m going to check with terminal commands like you are suggesting me. I will tell you if working or not in a few time.

    Thanks a lot.

    Hi,

It is not working with terminal. As can you see in the info of ip link command that i’ve showed, i have two wireless devices. The first wlp6s0 works fine. It is a Broadcom device.

  • I installed some wifi drivers(some arch wiki page pointed me to an AUR page) and then I completely uninstalled Gnome Shell(Mistakenly) and then after I reinstalled it, I got my wifi working fine.

yeah but I think only devs can help you now.
