• Cnchi can't continue

I’m trying to install Antergos for the first time.
Right after the installation is about to start, I get the following error: “Can’t install necessary packages. Cnchi can’t continue”. To be precise, this happens right after “Resolving dependencies…”.

    Here’s a screenshot:
    [img:3aqfc368]http://i.imgur.com/XAU71Af.png[/img:3aqfc368]

    Some more (perhaps relevant) information:

    • I’m using the graphical installer.
    • I left everything at default settings (basically clicked next next next).
    • I’m connected to the internet through a wired connection.

Can anyone help me out with this? Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

There was a packaging change from Arch that requires an update to Cnchi’s metadata. We’ll have it updated ASAP. Sorry about that!

Then we wait a new iso? or do a sudo pacman -Syyu?

  • Hello, I too have the same problem
I had to install Chakra for the moment, but as it will be updated? with a new Iso?

  • Hi,

Exit the installer when it initially starts. Press Alt+F2 and run this command:[command:428ncjs9]cnchi-dev[/command:428ncjs9] It will take 3-5 min for the installer to appear (sometimes longer depending on your internet connection). Let me know if it works okay for you.

    Best Regards,

i try use sudo cnchi-dev in terminal and the terminal show

Verifying that nothing is mounted from a previous install attempt.

  • This is really weird. I did a fresh install of XFCE yesterday (oct-3) with installer 2014-08-07 64-bits and every went fine as usual.

  • On 2 Oct i had the same problem as Impy… i had tried on some ways but without effect.
Today i tried to install Antergos again and:
with cnchi-dev - no effect (wait 10min - nothing is displayed [internet DS ~1MB/s]
with normal installation by cnchi in GUI - yeah!! it works again!

So, i suggests: clean all cache or reflash pendrive and try again!
    I’ll keep my fingers crossed!

  • Hmmm…it works for me. I tested in virtualbox. Check that you have an active internet connection before running the command.

If it still doesnt work, check the /tmp folder. There might be a log, if so post it here.

  • Can’t get network status. Will try again later.

You seem to not have a working Internet connection (at least Cnchi can’t detect it). Is network-manager working?

Could it be that your connection goes up and down all the time? In the “check” screen, it tells you that you have Internet connection?

    My connection works fine

  • WARNING: Can’t get network status. Will try again later.

This clearly means that Cnchi can’t comunicate with Network Manager service. Something is wrong, but I can’t imagine what it is.

Also, I don’t know why you don’t have a /usr/share/cnchi folder. Are you sure you downloaded the latest iso? Have you checked that it downloaded correctly?

  • Instead of running the dev script, try running these commands:[command:2s7zgrxf]cd /usr/share
    sudo mv cnchi cnchi.old
    sudo git clone [http://github.com/antergos/cnchi.git][0]">[http://github.com/antergos/cnchi.git][1] cnchi
sudo -E cnchi -dv -p /usr/share/cnchi/data/packages.xml[/command:2s7zgrxf] Let us know the result…

    Cheers!
