• RAID installation Antergos

    Hello,

I wrote a post in Spanish, but nobody has answered me ([url:15huiupi]http://forum.antergos.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=2143[/url:15huiupi]).

I purchased a new laptop and it has two mSATA SSD (and one HDD). The computer supports what is known as “fakeraid” to create a RAID0. I tried installing several times in that volume Antergos without success (both UEFI and Legacy). I have also tried (undoing this volume) create a software RAID from the CLI installer. I have also failed…

I hope someone can help me to create a RAID 0 (fake or software) with two SSD and enjoy of Antergos.

    Thanks in advance

  • Unfortunately, our installer does not yet support RAID. The CLI has the option but you’ll need to know exactly how you need to set it up. More details on configuring RAID here: [https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/RAID][0]">[https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/RAID][1]

  • Sorry to reopen this post.

Is there a support Raid 0 by the installer since last year ?

    Thanks you

  • I’m afraid there isn’t.

I know it has been in our TODO list for ages… but other matters have come first.

Good news is that we’re working on using ZFS in our installer. From the raid arch wiki:

Users considering a RAID array for data storage/redundancy should also consider RAIDZ which is implemented via ZFS, a more modern and powerful alternative to software RAID.

    Cheers!

  • Hi, I think it is still the same problem.
I have RAID option in bios and I created one with 3 ssd. (RAID0)
Then I installed ubuntu on it.
It is a UEFI system and gparted see the /dev/md0 with 3 partition: efi, swap and home.
Now I wanna install antergos so I thought using the same partition of ubuntu and overwright the home / partition.
The problem is that the installer doesn’t see those partition. What can I do?

  • I tried several times with the CLI installer, but it did not work. I installed Archlinux directly on my raid 0 (Fake Raid) thanks to this article: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Installing_with_Fake_RAID

    Salud.
