• Uninstalled to many packages / rollback?

so I am pretty new to the Linux environment. As a newbie I wanted to install a printer, which did not work and I messed up some settings, so I uninstalled “CUPS” but I must have clicked something else, too and uninstalled some other package, that was probably pretty relevant for the system… long story short nearly all of my packages got uninstalled.

Since I have another machine running Antergos too I just extracted the list of installed packages and re-installed them manually with pacman… However I am still missing the “graphical interface” with which one can install and update packages, can anyone help me and tell me how it is called?

Also is there a list of packages, that are usually installed with antergos?

I am using Gnome btw, I don’t know if that is relevant.

    Thank you for your help!

  • With some searching I found that it is called “Pamac” https://wiki.manjaro.org/index.php?title=Pamac if anyone else is searching it…

Sorry if this post becomes unnecessary!

  • updates can also pacman -Syu but if you use gnome you can also look intoo https://forum.antergos.com/topic/11515/gnome-3-32-updated-changes-problems if there some issues arise …

pamac should normal be installed if you install gnome. probably currently not sitting in panel but mayby is something in tweaks or whatever, but i dont use gnome so i cant tell :)

  • @ringo32
The OP deleted some vital Antergos dependancies while installing and removing printerdrivers, so Pamac got removed among it.😉

  • Looks about right below, since you already are missing it I would try below. Maybe wrong though.

Install Yaourt and all Dependencies first, Open Terminal and copy-paste each line and enter.

    git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/package-query.git
    cd package-query
    makepkg -si
    cd …
    git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/yaourt.git
    cd yaourt

    Then copy paste to install

    sudo pacman -S pamac

  • @rjfisherjr yaourt should not be used anymore, take yay instead!
and pamac is in official Antergos repository so no need for an AUR-Helper…

to get installed the same packages as initial install it should work with Antergos meta Packages:

    sudo pacman -S antergos-gnome-meta antergos-common-meta antergos-gnome-defaults-list antergos-mirrorlist
