• ssh won't make conection


    I have Antergos on 2 machines one a tower with a eth connection to the router the other is a laptop that wifi, I tell you I not new to linux but am new to the command line and I doing this to learn.
    a few days ago I was doing this and could ssh just fine but I couldn’t do a scp transfer for anything after doing alot of searching all I could get is maybe my home needed to be on it own partition ok I try to set that up but it fail so I did a reinstall now I not able to do a ssh connection at all open ssh is install and enable but when I try to login it won’t take password I lost on this here my ssh -vvv log I trying to ssh from the tower (catz) into (arch) the laptop but I try it both ways but it the same for both.

  • wrong password or non existing user?
    As you can connect over network it is not a problem with a routers firewall…

    on the ssh-server (the machine you want connect to) you need to enable the sshd server:

    sudo systemctl start sshd.service
    

    to start it till reboot, to automatic start it on every boot:

    sudo systemctl enable sshd.service
    

    connection will be started by:

    ssh [email protected]
