• Slow Wifi.

    Hello.
I`ve got new speed of internet 400 Mb/s and on my laptop it shows around 270. Is there any chance to speed my internet via wifi?

  • @iggypl
Actually wifi’s 270 out of 400 does not sound bad in my mind.
How’s the speed with the wired connection?

  • The same speed.

  • @iggypl
Usually wireless is a bit slower than wired because

    • wireless uses encryption (at least should normally use)
    • usually there are more transmission errors

The wireless drivers or some device firmware can be the reason for “slowness”.
For AC 3160 there are AUR driver packages iwlwifi (that you seem to have now?) and iwlwifi-next.
I have no experience of them, but may be worth trying the other one. Hopefully helps.

  • Ok, I`ll try it.
    Thanx.
