• I3wm sleeping

I installed antergos with the i3 window manager and it keeps going to sleep while plugged in and I can’t seem to find the setting anywhere. The wiki dosen’t mention anything about it. Any ideas as where to look for the setting?

  • i am not sure if there is something implemented by Antergos on i3 install, in addition to resume hook and entry for grub (resume=swap_partition) , so you may check the arch-wiki:

  • Hi!

I use this inside i3 config fle
    exec --no-startup-id xset s off -dpms &

    • from somewhere in the archwiki

Or you can install caffeine-ng, but then it’s an extra package to install.

yes @fernandomaroto i would say user is asking about this, Display going to sleep and not system 🤦🏻♂

  • @joekamprad

Not sure if hibernation comes enabled by default, but this setting for screen comes even when xscreensaver is not installed.

    Maybe related https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=71807

  • @fernandomaroto Thanks that seems to have fixed it.

  • as far as I know, Antergos installs light-locker by default:

  • this is how it is set up directly after a fresh i3-antergos install:

  • I had found light locker and turned it off but it didn’t seem to make a difference.

  • cat ~/.config/autostart/screensaver-settings.desktop

  • Update apparently light locker is what is turning off the screen and when I turn it off it fixes it until the next reboot when it turns itself back on.

  • @chip so show what is inside here:

    cat ~/.config/autostart/screensaver-settings.desktop

    light-locker comes with:

and is creating this two files in your autostart folder:
