Im a newbie to this, so I was messing around with a tutorial about what to do after installing antergos, I installed LTS kernel, then I used sudo pacman -Rs linux, but now that I try to boot it says I need to load the core first. I dont know what to do, cant find lts kernel either on advanced options.
Booting problems after changing to lts kernel
you didnt do
sudo mkinitcpio -P
, you need to generate initramfs. and 2nd wrong is, you removed directly the linux kernel.
3de you also need to update the grub : https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GRUB#Generated_grub.cfg
now you have to chroot intoo your system to get installed
you need a usb-disk of antergos to get back in.
hope it helps a bit …
yeah is importand for now to have linux back in the system
sudo mkinitcpio -p linux-lts sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
if you have nvidia installed you will also need the
nvidia-lts(or nvidia-340xx-lts) installed. from what i see here linux-lts is flagged out of date
linux-lts is flagged out of date
So is linux. Flagging “out of date” only means the new kernel versions are released by Linus & his colleagues, but not yet finished and released by Arch. Arch releases new kernel versions quite rapidly compared to nearly all other distros.
