• Mouse and keyboard doesn't work upon graphic boot

    @opensas
    Your /boot/grub/grub.cfg has the problem of missing second parameter on the initrd lines for Manjaro.
    That’s why you cannot boot to Manjaro.

    But there is a solution! You can download a “grub fixer” (in Antergos) and install it with these commands:

    cd /tmp
    wget -q https://github.com/manuel-192/Antergos/raw/master/Antergos-packages/grub-fix-generation-0.1.4-1-any.pkg.tar.xz{,.sha512}
    sha512sum -c grub-fix-generation-0.1.4-1-any.pkg.tar.xz.sha512
    # and if the checksum is OK, then
    sudo pacman -U grub-fix-generation-0.1.4-1-any.pkg.tar.xz

    This installs a small script /usr/bin/grub-fix-generation that you should run only once (in Antergos).
    More info about it in here: https://github.com/manuel-192/Antergos/tree/master/grub-fix-generation

    The script fixes two files of packages grub and os-prober. So run the fixer and recreate grub menus:

    sudo grub-fix-generation
    sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

    Now reboot and see if you can boot to Antergos and Manjaro. If there is a problem, please show the newly generated /boot/grub/grub.cfg here.

    To get back to the old grub generation, reinstall packages grub and os-prober, and uninstall grub-fix-generation, and run the grub-mkconfig (as above) again.

  • @developers
    Do you think this package (grub-fix-generation, see https://github.com/manuel-192/Antergos/tree/master/grub-fix-generation) could be included in the Antergos official repo?

    Seems that many people have had problems with the current version of the grub-mkconfig program in multi-boot cases, especially if there are other Arch based operating systems involved in the setup.

    The best solution naturally would be an upstream fix, but this problem has been around for years now in Arch and also Antergos. As a workaround (until fixed upstream) I think this fixes the issue.

    It actually could be executed from a new command update-grub (if not already executed).

    EDIT: I modified package grub-fix-generation to include the new command update-grub. So update-grub calls grub-fix-generation once, and then grub-mkconfig in the expected way.

  • would be also kinda unique selling point for Antergos then, as also Manjaro is not getting this done ;)
