• after latest updates 'no Wifi adaptor found' plus Ethernet problems

    @judd

    sudo wifi-menu

    gives in red color:

    Invalid interface specification

  • Do you use networkmanager?

    systemctl status NetworkManager.service

    ?

  • @judd Yes:

    NetworkManager.service - Network Manager
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/NetworkManager.service; enabled; vendor preset: disabled)
      Drop-In: /usr/lib/systemd/system/NetworkManager.service.d
               └─NetworkManager-ovs.conf
Active: active (running) since Sun 2019-02-03 14:28:53 CET; 16min ago
         Docs: man:NetworkManager(8)
     Main PID: 388 (NetworkManager)
        Tasks: 3 (limit

  • I do not see it well enabled, just in case I enable it again:

    systemctl enable NetworkManager.service and reboot

    and then →

→ I do not know if you have it installed, but you can try to do:

    sudo pacman -S broadcom-wl-dkms o sudo pacman -S broadcom-wl

    and reboot

    Personally I work broadcom-wl-dkms with broadcom 43142

  • @judd
    Was installed:

    broadcom-wl

    now replaced by:

    broadcom-wl-dkms

    during install i get this:

    :: Running post-transaction hooks...
    (1/2) Install DKMS modules
    ==> dkms install broadcom-wl/6.30.223.271 -k 4.20.6-arch1-1-ARCH
==> Unable to install module broadcom-wl/6.30.223.271 for kernel 4.19.19-1-lts: Missing kernel headers.
    (2/2) Arming ConditionNeedsUpdate...

    then done this:

rmmod b43 b43legacy bcm43xx bcma brcm80211 brcmfmac brcmsmac ssb wl modprobe wl

    i get this:

rmmod: ERROR: Module b43 is not currently loaded
rmmod: ERROR: Module b43legacy is not currently loaded
rmmod: ERROR: Module bcm43xx is not currently loaded
rmmod: ERROR: Module bcma is not currently loaded

rmmod: ERROR: Module brcmsmac is not currently loaded
rmmod: ERROR: Module ssb is not currently loaded
rmmod: ERROR: Module wl is not currently loaded

  • Getting crasy of this. ;-)

But i remember that after Antergos install i have put some extra’s in the Grub lines to get Antergos working.

How to see/change the GRUB lines, i have forgotten?

    sudo pacman -S linux-lts-headers

    and reboot

cat /etc/default/grub To see it and edit it: sudo nano /etc/default/grub and at the end of editing the grub, always sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

Now, what does Grub have to do with what we are trying to do with WiFi?

    ** . . . is not currently loaded**
Please restart the system so that they can load the modules, otherwise it is impossible …

  • @judd Thanks, working now!
Today i have rebooted more then ten times and because pamac whas ‘telling’ to do:

rmmod b43 b43legacy bcm43xx bcma brcm80211 brcmfmac brcmsmac ssb wl modprobe wl

or reboot, i had done this:

rmmod b43 b43legacy bcm43xx bcma brcm80211 brcmfmac brcmsmac ssb wl modprobe wl

But the last reboot did the trick.
    Thanks!!!

    Sorry, forget the GRUB question.
