    Happy New Year to all…

    Can somebody explain me please, for what we need lib32-libstdc++5? What is the use of it?

    I looked around in the net…but there is only dry over-technical stuff for how installing it - and the related problems during or after installations.

    On this occasion I would like to pass a message or my experience with Antergos.

    During some time (years / months) I got quite a lot of problems with Antergos and 2 unsolvable crashes forced me to new installations with the respective lost of data.

    So last Summer I decided to swap Antergos with another distro… but luckily there was the idea to try Antergos with Cinnamon Desktop Environment - till last summer it was running with Gnome.

    Since then Antergos is solid as a rock…and I have even more possibilities to adapt the system to my needs than with Gnome.

    That’s all - Cheerio lads

  • @lamda-delta said in Functions of lib32-libstdc++5:

    pacman -Sii  lib32-libstdc++5

    You will get whole bunch of info, the list in Required by will tell you which packages require lib32-libstdc++5

    I do not have lib32-libstdc++5 installed, however I can do the same for libstdc++5,
    and can see that it is required by iscan and onlyoffice.
    Though curiously on my box, neither iscan or onlyoffice is installed 😯

    [[email protected] ~]$ pacman -Sii libstdc++5

    Hi BlaiseD - I can remember you helping me a lot during last summer when I got a crash and lost all my emails.
