• Wifi not working. Unable to find networks.

    Hello,

    since make and upgrade today wifi is not working. It does not find any network and the network is working fine with ethernet connection.
    I can’t remember any program in the upgrade that can make this issue.

    here is information about my kernel version:

    $ uname -r
    4.19.4-arch1-1-ARCH

    I put also some logs:

    $ systemctl list-unit-files --state=enabled --no-pager

    I think this change of status is part of the problem, but I can’t know where it comes.

    state change: unmanaged -> unavailable (reason 'managed', sys-iface-state: 'managed')

    I also have tried with

     iwlist scan

    command and it doesn’t detect any network.

    I hope we can fix it.
    Thanks for your help!

    I also have tried to connect with wifi network with an external usb wifi dongle obtaining the same result.

  • No, I don’t think so, because it is happening since I start the system and I have seen that launching this command:

    $ sudo iw dev wlp5s0 scan

    finds the wifi networks, could it be a Network Manager issue?

  • @donc3
    Does the problem occur if you use another kernel (linux-lts)?

  • @donc3 the link i gave before say: Some users may encounter errors with powersave on this card. This is shown with occasional disconnects that are not recognized by high level network managers (netctl, NetworkManager).

    This is the output of journalctl -f when I turn on and off the wifi.

    I also have check the folder

    /etc/modprobe.d

    and I don’t have the file /etc/modprobe.d/rtl8723ae.conf which says the wiki, this folder is empty.
    Should I create it??

    EDIT:
    I have created the file and checked that the module loads the configuration, but the problem still persist.

  • This problem have been solved automatically, in an upgrade.
    I don’t know which packages were failing.
