• After yesterdays system update I got gitdaemon user in logon screen

    After my weekly maintenance ran successfully yesterday, I got an additional user gitdaemon in my XFCE logon screen.
    What went wrong? How can I get rid of that?

  • better do nothing and wait till it get sorted out… some user broke their system on try to get rid of the user…

  • grep -i git /etc/passwd
    git:x:976:976:git daemon user:/:/usr/bin/git-shell
    ++
    pacman -Qo /usr/bin/git-shell
    /usr/bin/git-shell is owned by git 2.19.0-1

  • With yesterdays system update that git daemon user has vanished from logon screen, though it’s still present in the system:

    pacman -Qo /usr/bin/git-shell
    /usr/bin/git-shell ist in git 2.19.1-1 enthalten

    The only thing that has changed is git which is now on 2.19.1 from 2.19.0.

    Just wanted to let you know.
