• \[SOLVED\] GUI Installer Freezes

I have a Dell Inspiron (Not sure of the model). But I recently was recommended this installater by a friend. I tried it to burn the iso onto the usb within windows and I received a kernel panic, I then retried using a Ubuntu Live USB to burn the antergos iso onto a USB using UNETbootin and it worked.

    My main issue is:

But I seem to encounter an issue which I think a few people on the forums have reported. When I attempt to use the GUI installer, by either using the advanced method or the Easy method (By specifying root and swap partitions), the installer still hangs and gives me a certain message.
    “Failed to retrieve ‘antergos.db’ …”

A screenshot of my computer specifications within the LIVE Boot of Antergos: [http://screencloud.net/v/n1cS][0]">[http://screencloud.net/v/n1cS][2]

I even performed an MD5 integrity check, and it seems to be fine. Also is there a possible ETA to when the bug with the GUI installer may be patched?

    Thanks

  • Database errors like that occur when the installer has trouble connecting to the server. This is usually due to the server experiencing some downtime. Normally, servers come back up rather quickly. If you could make another attempt, its possible you won’t see the errors again. If you do still get those errors, I can walk you through editing the mirror list file to designate a different mirror. Let’s start with trying it again and we can go from there.
