• Installing Nvidia Drivers

    Hey all!

I’ve never installed nvidia drivers before, so forgive me if i sound so dumb. I read the Antergos wiki and it seems all i have to do is install and run sudo nvidia-installer.

    I have a Geforce 8800 512 gts.

I ran nvidia-installer --test and it didn’t prompt errors. here is the LOG

This old pc can’t boot through USB (and i forgot plop boot manager cd at home, so if i do something wrong i’ll only be able to “fix” a possible mistake in a month or so (case the system turns out unbootable).

So i hope some nvidia user to confirm if this is all i have to do.

    Thanks for your atention.

Hi you might want to add package nvidia-340xx-settings.

Your log contain all the other packages present on my nvidia set-up.

[You wrote](so if i do something wrong i’ll only be able to “fix” a possible mistake in a month or so (case the system turns out unbootable).)

Btrfs saved my install from my own mistakes so many times !

  • And always possible to boot into CLI without a working x driver ;)

  • @joekamprad
CLI used to be the way to go. :)

  • If the system allow me to go to tty then i’m fine :)

    So i’ll install nvidia today.

    Thanks everyone!

If you have a USB stick, maybe you could burn the ISO to it? ;)
