• Cannot install in a virtual machine

Trying to install Antergos 2014.06.24 x64 on VMWare Workstation.

First screen, I choose “Start Antergos Live”:

Everything looks fine, until it just freezes at that point after a few seconds:

    Any idea why?

  • I think if you look around, you will see others have been having issues with VMWare installs. Have you tried VirtualBox? I’ve never had any problems installing on VB.

  • Unfortunately, this is even worse…

  • Just out of curiosity, have you tried rebooting the host?

  • Yes, it’s a know bug in 4.3.14. Will try 4.3.15 but for now ArchBang works without problem on VMWare Workstation…

  • Sorry to hear you are still having issues with it.

  • I had same problem here[url:m6x5d6jm]http://forum.antergos.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1984[/url:m6x5d6jm] with VMware and one of the developers answered[url:m6x5d6jm]http://forum.antergos.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1984#p9117[/url:m6x5d6jm] it’s [i:m6x5d6jm]untested[/i:m6x5d6jm] on vmware and he/she will work on it
I used VirtualBox and exactly same error occurred for me! but I could solve it and Antergos works fine on it
BUT just now I don’t remember how I solved it

  • Seems to be a bug due to a conflict with antiviruses (so specific to Windows) introduced in version 4.3.14…
I moved to ArchBang instead meanwhile, too bad, I wanted to try the latest Antergos after having used it about a year ago.

  • I also had problems installing antergos (any DE) in a VirtualBox 4.3.12 from Oracle on host PC running XP.
The problem was my Avira firewall. Once I enabled the firewall all is running fine.
