I found the thread above and now I am facing the same problem on my Laptop I reinstalled Antergos to get rid of Bumblebee, since it is absolutely broken after Xserver Update to 1.20. And I decided to go solely with the Nvidia Drivers.
On the standard Nouveau Driver Gnome was starting fine, but after installing Nvidia Drivers with the Nvidia-Installer Script, I only get the Black Screen with the little dash. And Gnome does not start.
Booting into terminal command line works fine and when I checked the Xsessionerrors, I only get a weird error message:
“Light Locker: Fatal Error IO Error 11”
Sadly I cannot find anything how to fix this problem.
Trying to startx brings up nothing, just a freeze where nothing happens and having to switch to a different Tty for shutting down.
I made a Photo of these errors:
Will edit this post, with some of the configs if it helps. Just trying to get these, since I only have my Phone for writing anything without a gui.
Lenovo ThinkPad W530 with Nvidia Quadro K2000M. I know it should work with the Nvidia Driver alone, was using it before switching to Antergos and Gnome.
