• Cannot find ".bash" file

I have to say I am Newbie.

Using dolphin I tried to find the following files in the root directory:

    • .bash_profile
    • .bashrc
Dolphin does not find these files,
Using Linux Mint Debian, locating both files is a question of seconds.

    Started Dolphin
Clicked Find and entered “.bash” in the search window
    Hit Enter
Search stops with several files matching the search criteria but the needed files are not included.

Why doesn’t dolphin find the files or what I am doing wrong?
Do these files have different names in ArchLinux?

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • .bash_profile is typically found on debian-based systems. You should have a .bashrc file though. If not its possible there was an error when installer tried to create it. You can easily create the file yourself though

  • Thanks Dustin for your reply.

Your are right, I found and used this file in Linux Mint Debian machine. This was the only Linux which I could get running a very old IBM x40 machine. Antergos does not run on this x40 or at least I could not get it running; although I would prefer if also the x40 would run on Antergos.

Beyond finding this file I am working on the functionality to write Japanese on my English OS antergos KDE machine.

After a lot of searching in the internet I wrote a guideline for the IBM x40 Machine: [http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=190&t=168345&sid=ae4f9e3c2cb4d8498c5ab47004c87ba0][0]">[http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.p][1] … 7004c87ba0

If you, or someone else can have a look at this guideline and give me hints on what to do with Antergos KDE and Cinnamon I am very happy.
