• Download speed while installing

Can’t help but wonder why is the download speed limited in Cnchi while installing Antergos on my system. I have a 50 down/20 up mbps connection and the fetching process only does at about 40 kbps and taking forever to complete.
    Any ideas?

  • @superbee
Sounds like slow (far away) mirrors. You can select mirrors closer to you in cnchi.

Install eat: wget -q https://github.com/manuel-192/eat/raw/master/PKGBUILD && makepkg -sic

  • It also depends on the total available bandwidth and load on that mirror at any given time.

I usually get the install started and wander off for a cup of coffee (or a cigarette when I still smoked) until it’s done.

Is this how time normally passes? Reallly slowly… and in the proper order?

  • Thanks for quick replies. I rebooted and started the process all over again, now the download speed is fine. Guess the automated mirror ranking didn’t do it’s job properly.
