• Can't resize partition

    Hey guys, how you doing?

So I’m a Arch user and now I’m trying the Antergos out. The installation was awesome. But I’m getting some problems at the partition sizes. My home partition have 900GB and I do really want to resize. To intall other system (in the future) or even to keep another clean partition.

I’ve tried to resize it with Gparted, but the resizing options are not available. I also tried with cfdisk, but it doesn’t work as well. It says the partition can’t be maximaze (the home and even the system one).

Could you guys help me to figure out a way to solve this problem.

    Thanks

  • Hi! Are you running the GParted with a live media (cd or usb stick)?

  • Hey, George. I installed Gparted on the system.

  • What do you mean by “I’ve tried to resize it with Gparted, but the resizing options are not available”? Is it it locked (you can see a key icon) because it is mounted? If it is mounted you cannot alter this partition this way. You will need to boot using a live media (cd, dvd or usb stick) and make your changes. I dont remember if the Antergos live includes the gparted tool but if you need one, you can download from the following web sites:

    GParted Live CD [http://gparted.org/livecd.php][0]">[http://gparted.org/livecd.php][1]

    System Rescue CD [http://www.sysresccd.org][0]">[http://www.sysresccd.org][2]
