• CPU#(number) soft lockup on start ups

    Good morning

So I have been having annoying problems when I start up the laptop. It is quite common that one CPU gets soft lock up at start up. Usually it has been CPU#3 but this morning it was CPU#4

This is repeated few times because this CPU always got soft lock up when I was trying to boot.
Most of the posts I have looked at regarding this problem mention over clocking, which I am not doing. One person changed their power supply, but this happens randomly on battery and while plugged in. It however feels like it happens less while on battery.

With hope for a fix :)

  • Soft lock could have happened due to Intel’s microcode being installed while using AMD apu.

I have not encountered this problem after uninstalling and ignoring Intel’s updates in update manager.
