After working fine for months, Antergos is suddenly showing the same problem that I had in this thread https://forum.antergos.com/topic/8314/antergos-hangs-at-boot , that is it stops after the file and block check. When I boot into the LTS Kernel it boots further, even says “GDM started” but stops at “Reached target Graphical Interface”. ![0_1531047951464_IMG_20180708_141610.jpg](Uploading 100%)
I used the solution outlined in the linked post to boot into a non-graphical environment and ran “systemctl”. Here are the screenshots. ![3_1531047974268_IMG_20180708_130757.jpg](Uploading 100%) ![2_1531047974268_IMG_20180708_130745.jpg](Uploading 100%) ![1_1531047974268_IMG_20180708_130727.jpg](Uploading 100%) ![0_1531047974268_IMG_20180708_130653.jpg](Uploading 100%)
There is an unrecoverable failure in the gnome shell apparently but my default DE is KDE so I don’t know if this is the reason for my problems.
In the last few days they were updates to the Linux Kernel as well as to the NVIDIA drivers but no updates to GDM. I expect either the NVDIA driver or the Kernel to be the culprits here. Since it doesn’t boot using the LTS Kernel either I assume it is more likely that it is a NVDIA problem?
What are my next steps? Rolling back the NVDIA driver and/or the Kernel?
Is rolling back the NVIDIA driver enough since it comes with a bunch of other packages mostly?
