• Trying to revive an old netbook.

    Re: Antergos 32bit?

Having converted most of my linux boxes to Antergos over the last couple of months, I’m left with an old Acer netbook that I’ve plugged into my stereo so I can annoy my neighbors with my music collection. The problem is that it has a 32bit Atom processor and the instructions in the above post really didn’t explain enough for my limited understanding of Antergos/Arch.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as the existing Ubuntu Mate install is getting to be inadequate for my needs (not to mention the fact that I’ve been rather spoiled on my other computers).

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Antergos has no 32 bit packages anymore, so it is not possible to install Antergos on a 32 machine.

You can install Archlinux32 bit as they are repos and isos aviable and developed by some archers:

But no cnchi aviable and you will need to install the arch-way.

I do this with starting from Antergos ISO (you can do by downloading an old 32 bit Antergos ISO) changing pacman.conf and mirrorlist to what is needed for arch32, and open a browser to copy paste from ArchLinux Install Wiki from terminal inside live session

    mirrorlist is aviable here: https://archlinux32.org/download/

    32bit Antergos ISO: https://linuxtracker.org/index.php?page=torrent-details&id=79f39f1cb8024b0462db1d0ef018de1dc91a7afc

  • Cool, thanks. Guess I’ll try it out in VMware this evening before I totally screw things up.

Maybe a bit of Black Sabbath to smooth the process…
