• Kernel panic in regular mode and pamac lock issue in fall back mode

    So I was updating my computer today it accidentally got unplugged. I have to use Antergos in fallback mode cause the mode kernel panics. On top of this when I try to update in fallback I get:

    3 :: Synchronizing package databases...
    4 error: failed to update antergos (unable to lock database)
    5 error: failed to update core (unable to lock database)
    6 error: failed to update extra (unable to lock database)
    7 error: failed to update community (unable to lock database)
    8 error: failed to update multilib (unable to lock database)
    9 error: failed to synchronize all databases

    Is there anything I can do so that I do not have to reinstall my system? Been searching around Google and the forums a little, but have not been able to find a lot of help with this scenario.

  • @smason said in Kernel panic in regular mode and pamac lock issue in fall back mode:

    unable to lock database

    sudo rm /var/lib/pacman/db.lck will unlock

    And may a good idea to rebuild grub.cfg and kernel images:

    sudo mkinitcpio -p linux
    sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

  • @joekamprad
    The db.lck removal fixed my pamac problem. And I did not know that I could rebuild the kernel image. My computer is no longer kernel panicking when I boot it up normally. Thank you!

  • you are welcome!

    To keep this steps in mind will solve interrupted updates, and a kernel panic caused be not completet rebuild of the images almost every time.
