Test enabling lightdm:systemctl enable lightdm.service
and thensystemctl start lightdm.service
I uninstalled LightDM and its dependencies. GNOME now feels way faster and symbols when changing programs with ctrl+tab are at a normal size. Let’s hope that really fixes my problem.
Downloads, Music, Pictures, and Videos folders not showing in the quick shortcut list in the file manager for gnome.
Desktop, Documents, Public and Templates still fine and show up.
Interesting secondary problem, firefox with default download location just drops files in /home/name
I have been trying every possible option I can find and cannot get my ipod to work with Amarok. I had it partially working with gtkpod, which now segfaults and does not load so that is a different issue. There current one is when Ioad Amarok, I get the following message:determined mount-point path to imobiledevice_uuid_4c973b438ca571c51ded910bfd352b4a95e11918 calling `ifuse "-u" "4c973b438ca571c51ded910bfd352b4a95e11918" "-ofsname=afc://4c973b438ca571c51ded910bfd352b4a95e11918" "imobiledevice_uuid_4c973b438ca571c51ded910bfd352b4a95e11918"` with timeout of 10s ifuse: fuse: mountpoint is not empty ifuse: fuse: if you are sure this is safe, use the 'nonempty' mount option ifuse: command exited with non-zero return code 1 Failed to mount iPhone on imobiledevice_uuid_4c973b438ca571c51ded910bfd352b4a95e11918
I have spent quite a bit of time here:
My ipod is a touch (3rd Gen), I can get it to mount correctly with ifuse, but no luck beyond that. Any help would be much appreciated, I miss having my tunes (and podcasts)
